Problems and Solutions on Thermodynamics and Statistical Mechanics by Yung-Kuo Lim. These problems are carefully chosen from 3100 problems, some of which came from the China-U.S. Physics Examination and Application Program, others were selected from the Ph.D. Qualifying Examination on Experimental High Energy Physics, sponsored by Chao Chong Ting. The rest came from the graduate entrance examination questions of seven famous American universities during the last decade; they are: Columbia University, University of California at Berkeley, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Wisconsin, University of Chicago, Princeton University and State University of New York, Buffalo.     This eBook C++ by Examples is authored by Steve Donova.  It starts with a strong beginning of the hierarchy of Programming languages as,
The history of C++ is interesting because it helps to understand where it comes from. On the one hand, there is a tradition of low-level power and efficiency that comes from C, and on the other hand it is a high-level object-oriented language.
C: Close to the Machine
The ancestor of C++ is C, which has been around since the early 1970 s. It was developed by Dennis Ritchie at AT&T Bell Labs as a lean, fast language that is rich in low-level machine operations (such as bit twiddling) but can be moved (that is, ported) easily to other machines. As soon as UNIX was rewritten in C, it could itself be ported to much different architecture.
There is a certain cowboy spirit about C: You don’t need to be too worried about data type safety if you know what you’re doing. C is a very small language. It has no built-in I/O and file access or string manipulation capabilities, unlike
BASIC, for example, which has PRINT and INPUT. In C, everything is done with libraries. C is often used to program devices as small as 12 KB washing-machine controllers.

C++: “C with Classes”
C++ grew out of C in the early 1980 s at Bell Labs. Bjarne Stroustrup was doing research in simulation, and he was inspired by the class concept of the SIMULA language. The original compiler translated C++ to C, but modern compilers go directly to machine code. The modern C++ language has grown throughout two decades from not having templates, exception handling, or multiple inheritances, to becoming a fine, stable adult.
C++ remains true to its C roots. It still relies on libraries for all its I/O functions and runs on small devices such as cell phones as well as on continent wide tele-phone networks. To this day, C++ remains incredibly backward compatible with
C. A programmer can choose to get close to the machine or operate on a very high level; this flexibility is what gives C++ its special power.

Java: Universal Language
In the early 1990s, researchers at Sun Micro systems were looking at a reliable way to build the next generation of consumer devices. James Gosling and
Patrick Naughton developed Java, which is syntactically similar to C++ (that is, it uses the same punctuation and many of the same keywords) but is designed to be a pure object-oriented language

Interest in digital image processing methods stems from two principal application areas: improvement of pictorial information for human interpretation; and processing of image data for storage, transmission, and representation for autonomous machine perception. This chapter has several objectives: (1) to define the scope of the field that we call image processing; (2) to give a historical perspective of the origins of this field; (3) to give an idea of the state of the art in image processing by examining some of the principal areas in which it is applied; (4) to discuss briefly the principal approaches used in digital image processing; (5) to give an overview of the components contained in a typical, general-purpose image processing system; and (6) to provide direction to the books and other literature where image processing work normally is reported. Enjoy Reading..

Practical C Programming--Steve Oualline.pdf

Description: There are lots of introductory C books, but this is the first one that has the no-nonsense, practical approach that has made Nutshell Handbooks® famous. C programming is more than just getting the syntax right. Style and debugging also play a tremendous part in creating programs that run well and are easy to maintain. This book teaches you not only the mechanics of programming, but also describes how to create programs that are easy to read, debug, and update. Practical rules are stressed. For example, there are fifteen precedence rules in C . The practical programmer reduces these to two

Multiplication and division come before addition and subtraction.
Contrary to popular belief, most programmers do not spend most of their time creating code. Most of their time is spent modifying someone else's code. This books shows you how to avoid the all-too-common obfuscated uses of C (and also to recognize these uses when you encounter them in existing programs) and thereby to leave code that the programmer responsible for maintenance does not have to struggle with. Electronic Archaeology, the art of going through someone else's code, is described. This third edition introduces popular Integrated Development Environments on Windows systems, as well as UNIX programming utilities, and features a large statistics-generating program to pull together the concepts and features in the language.

Ebook Details

There are two major obstacles someone tries to make data data structures in the face:

Most of the books are trying to learn by using algorithms, instead of a specific language
There is much to the imagination of the reader

This is another book of data structures. It uses a common language such as C data structures for the data file. Secondly, it goes much further than just explaining how it stacks, queues and linked lists punë.Lexuesi can really feel (instead of thinking) solution of a cow, camel and an array of dual listing in connection with the construction of a binary tree, etc .. Through carefully designed animations that describe these processes. All these animations are available on the CD that accompanies this book. It also contains numerous figures and labor programs that would help manage the complex actions that are running on different data structures differently to understand. Add to this the usual clear Kanetkar Yashavant style and you have data structures book in hand.

About the author
Kanetkar Yashavant programming books became almost a legend. They created, formed and thrown millions of careers software in the last decade and a half. In recognition of his contribution in the software community and the students he was awarded the 'Best Technical Prize NET. "And" Most Valuable Professional (MVP) "award from Microsoft.
